Live Interview about the upcoming novel “The Greatest Fulfillment.”
Event details
We are hosting a live interview in german with the author Sonja Weichand, during which the PES team will talk to her about her upcoming novel “The Greatest Fulfillment.” The conversation will mainly focus on the social questions raised by the book: What does fulfillment in relationships mean if one is asexual or lives polyamorously? How can friendship, love, and societal expectations be reconciled? At the beginning of the event, the author will offer an initial insight into the characters and themes by reading a short passage from her novel—a starting point for the subsequent discussion. In the concluding segment, you as the community are invited to ask your questions.
Description: The Greatest Fulfillment – Lore despairs over monogamy. Esi refuses to admit that she hates sex. Meeting each other in their early twenties saves them. United in their otherness, they become best friends. But by their late thirties, they are confronted by the second big question of fulfillment: Esi wants a family, but Lore becomes pregnant. When Lore loses the child, she numbs her pain ruthlessly and puts her friendship with Esi at risk. Suddenly, they become rivals for a man. But what is stronger: love or sex? And who is better at lying to themselves?
