August 28th, 2020 Our sample presentations will make Ace Week prep a breeze
Last year, we released a sample presentation called “Understanding Asexuality.” This presentation is based on our team’s experiences giving dozens of similar presentations, as well as the advice we’ve gotten from other activists over the years.
This presentation follows the history of the ace community in order to teach the audience about the words and concepts we use to describe our identities and experiences. With detailed slide notes, anybody would be able to give this presentation.
“Understanding Asexuality” is ideal for longer presentations between one hour and an hour and a half. For presentations shorter than this (45 minutes or less), we’ve created a simplified version that touches on the basics of ace identity, relationships, and issues.
Made specifically with sex educators and Pride clubs in mind, not only does this presentation have the same detailed slide notes as the full version, it also comes with an accompanying quiz that can be printed or uploaded onto Kahoot for a bit of fun.
Both of these presentations, along with their accompanying materials, are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License, so you can feel free to adapt the presentation to your needs. Additionally, we believe that people should be paid for their work, and we would love for community organizers and activists to collect honoraria or donations for presenting this workshop. If you would like permission to use this presentation for such purposes, send us an email and we’d be happy to help you out!
